GET INVOLVED
The WHAT’S NEXT initiative connects residents with job training and future planning support and services to advance career preparation, job attainment, and financial stability. This initiative began in the Fall of 2021 as a start-up volunteer venture.
During the first year of our project, we have partnered with Virginia Peninsula Community College & the Hampton Roads Workforce Development Council for workforce development training and local businesses for employment possibilities.
This initiative started as an idea to connect people in the Southeast community of Newport News with resources for job training.
The coordinators were aware of the Fast Forward jobs program serving community college students and designed to attract those underrepresented in the workforce.
